Over many years we have developed a respite service that enhances the quality of life for carers who care for someone in their own home.
Our support provides relief from the stress, isolation and physical demands of being a carer.
Our main client groups are the carers of:
- children with additional needs
- adults or older adults with a physical or learning disability or a mental health problem
- older adults living alone with a physical or learning disability or a mental healthproblem
We are registered with the Care Commission and in order that carers may have some ‘peace of mind’ while they get an hour or two of respite, we have adopted the Crossroads Scotland Quality Assurance System (Croqas) and this ensures that our care assistants are trained to deliver a professional service.
Many carers have said that our organisation is a ‘life-line’ that enables them to cope.
Fife Council and NHS Fife provide us with funding (supplemented by fundraising) and this allows us to provide a free service.
